The processes for Implant Restoration can be of two kinds – Screw-Retained or Cemented. Compared to the latter, the Screw-Retained Implant Restoration is more advantageous as it can be easily repaired if the crown is fractured.

Although, the treatment is dependent on the case, the placement of an implant is spread over two phases. One, is surgically placing the implant, and the second is restoring the implant with a crown.

Implant Restorations is an excellent way for patients who do not prefer traditional dentures to replace missing teeth. Its multiple benefits include:

  • Restored chewing ability.
  • Enhanced facial features with a less droopy appearance.
  • Lesser chances of shifting teeth.
  • Improved speech.

The implanting process is carried out over the course of a few months.

It starts with installing the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jawbone. An incision is made in the gum so that the dental implant can be inserted. In cases where required, multiple implants can also be placed. Suturing is done on the gums afterwards. A 3–6 month healing period is usually required for further resorration.
